Improving the Quality of Life for Cudahy
Over the past four years, I have worked to strengthen the foundation of our community by investing in education, expanding community partnerships, improving basic services, protecting civil and constitutional rights, and making quality of life a priority for every resident. As I look toward the future, I believe Cudahy is ready to take the next step.
Building a Thriving Local Economy
Cudahy deserves to be a destination—not just a place people pass through. I am committed to creating a long-term economic development strategy that transforms vacant and underutilized properties into vibrant spaces that attract new businesses, locally owned restaurants, neighborhood-serving retail, and community gathering places. By planning intentionally, we can create jobs, strengthen our local economy, increase City revenue, and provide residents with the amenities they deserve without leaving their own community.
Investing in Our Youth
Our young people deserve opportunities that inspire them to build their future right here in Cudahy. I will continue expanding educational partnerships, leadership programs, internships, career pathways, workforce development opportunities, and access to higher education. By investing in our youth today, we are investing in the long-term success of our entire community.
Community Safety
Public safety is about more than responding to crime—it is about preventing it. I will continue advocating for a broader approach to community safety that includes early intervention, youth programming, gang prevention and intervention, mental health resources, employment opportunities, neighborhood engagement, and strong partnerships between residents, schools, nonprofit organizations, and public safety agencies. Safe communities are built through opportunity, trust, and prevention.
Celebrating Arts, Culture, and Public Spaces
Arts and culture help define who we are as a community. I want to expand public art, murals, cultural events, and beautification projects that celebrate Cudahy's identity, support local artists, discourage graffiti through creative placemaking, and create welcoming public spaces where residents of all ages can gather, connect, and take pride in their city.
Strengthening Housing and Expanding Opportunity
Every resident deserves to live in safe, well-maintained housing. I will continue supporting strong tenant protections while working with property owners, residents, and community partners to improve the quality of rental housing throughout Cudahy. I also believe we must create pathways to homeownership by expanding access to affordable homeownership opportunities, supporting first-time homebuyers, encouraging responsible housing development, and ensuring that working families have the opportunity to build long-term stability and wealth in our community.
Building a More Connected and Inclusive Cudahy
My vision is to continue building a city where every resident feels welcomed, represented, and connected. Through thoughtful planning, strong community partnerships, transparent government, and meaningful resident engagement, we can create a Cudahy that is safer, healthier, more vibrant, and full of opportunity for future generations.
